BEREA, Ohio -- RG3 is running out of time and excuses. After a rough and rusty outing last week in his first game since getting hurt in the season opener, quarterback Robert Griffin III is confident hell show more Sunday when the 0-13 Browns visit the Buffalo Bills.I will play better, he said Wednesday. I know I can.The Browns are counting on it.Making just his second start since 2014, Griffin was expectedly unpolished in a 23-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals . He completed only 12 of 28 passes for 104 yards and added 31 yards rushing and one touchdown.Griffin, who broke a bone in his left, non-throwing shoulder on Sept. 11, had some timing issues and there were a few plays where he either made the wrong read or simply missed his target. It was far from perfect, which is just what coach Hue Jackson anticipated. But now that Griffin has played once and is getting another week of practice to prepare, Jackson expects him to be much more refined. There needs to be a jump in performance, said Jackson, who pushed for the Browns to sign Griffin as a free agent in March.I can understand last week. Last week, I tried to temper this whole (media) room that it may not go well because I know that could happen. Now this week, I cant say that. You have a game under your belt. You have practices under your belt. Now, you need to go play well. I expect that everything will be better from that stand point. In search of their first win in more than a year, the Browns are also continuing their endless quest to find a long-term solution at quarterback and are spending these final few weeks making a detailed look to see whether Griffin can be that guy.His early season injury may have delayed the process, but Jackson is determined to see the RG3 experiment to its conclusion.I am not giving up on it, he said. I am going to work through it and see where we are. That is the whole part of him playing so we can evaluate where we are and have a good feel about it when the season is over.Griffins return came on a blustery, snowy day, not exactly optimal conditions for passing the football. However, there were other reasons for his low completion percentage, including the Browns falling behind 13-0 in the first quarter and being forced to play catch up.Griffin didnt put the blame on anyone but himself for his poor statistical output. We had a number of throwaways, just broken plays and to just get the ball out and avoid sacks, he said. That accounted for a lot of the incompletions. I probably missed about three check-downs that I would normally hit and just fundamental technique issues that have been fixed and will be on display next Sunday.I think that is really what it came down to. We want to be more efficient throwing the ball, I want to be more efficient throwing the ball, and we will be.If anyone can appreciate Griffins challenge in playing for the first time in 11 weeks, its Browns wide receiver Terrelle Pryor. Hes played quarterback in the league and understands how hard it can be to step back in after a lengthy break.Pryor expects Griffin to improve as well.I have a lot of belief in Rob, he said. Last week, a lot of stuff was going on, a lot of snow and wind and a lot of different things were going on and it was his first game playing in a while. He hasnt played for two years prior to that besides the Eagles game, so youve got to be light on him and I think hes going to come out and have a lot better game this game.Game notes The Browns began practice outdoors before Jackson took a spill on the frozen field. We started outside, and I took a fall and got up and said, `OK, we are going inside, he said. Browns Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas laughed when he heard that Bills DT Marcell Dareus guaranteed Buffalo would not give Cleveland its first win. I hate that guy, Thomas joked. Im going to kill him. ... The Browns claimed RB Darius Jackson via waivers from Dallas. They waived LB Corey Lemonier.---For more NFL coverage: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFLShoes Canada Sale . - NASCAR announced a 33-race schedule for the 2014 Nationwide Series with virtually no changes from this years slate. MILAN -- A sixth successive Serie A title for Juventus might not be the foregone conclusion it appeared to be at the start of the season.Cracks have started to appear and Juventus lost its perfect start to the season on Sunday as Inter Milan came from behind to win the Derby dItalia 2-1.Mauro Icardi and substitute Ivan Perisic scored for Inter to cancel out Stephan Lichtsteiners opener. We couldnt hold out for even two minutes (after scoring), said Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri. Its brought us back to earth, we will have to fight. This defeat hurts us but at least it will do us good.Wednesday were playing against Cagliari and we have the chance to immediately get back on track and take home the three points.Juventus, which also drew 0-0 against Sevilla in the Champions League, was very much second best at San Siro for large periods -- and this against a team which lost 2-0 at home to Hapoel Beer-Sheva in the Europa League on Thursday.Inter had won just one of its first three league matches. Coach Frank de Boer, who replaced Roberto Mancini less than two weeks before the start of the season, was very much under pressure amid reports of being fired if the Nerazzurri lost heavily to its bitter rival.I dont want to talk about revenge, I cant do miracles, De Boer said. Today we didnt lose our heads. The team played very well and we deserved to win. Today I saw the team fight right until the end and we have so much quality if we do that. There are those who played fantastically but no one is bigger than Inter and everyone has to be proud to wear this shirt.Juventus broke the deadlock in the 66th minute. Lichsteiner, who had been strongly linked with Inter in the offseason, got in front of Davide Santon to volley in Alex Sandros cross from close range. However, Icardi had scored six goals in his last seven Serie A matches against Juventus and he struck again, heading in a corner just two minutes after the opener. It was the Argentina forwards fourth goal in his last three league matches.Indeed no one else had scored for Inter this season until Perisic headed in Icardis cross in the 78th.Allegri had brought on Gonzalo Higuain four minutes earlier but Italys most expensive signing could not change anything.Even the sending off of midfielder Ever Banega in the final minute, following two yellow cards in quick succession, could not dampen Inters spirits as it held out to seal a first home win over Juventus in more than six years.ddddddddddddJuventus is second, a point behind Napoli, which is now the only unbeaten side in the league.Heres what else happened in Serie A:---ROMA DISAPPOINTMENTRoma lost its unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 defeat at Fiorentina.Milan Badelj scored the only goal of the match eight minutes from time, drilling the ball into the bottom left corner through a sea of bodies.Replays showed the goal perhaps should have been ruled out as Nikola Kalinic, who was in an offside position, opened his legs to let the ball through.Moments earlier Radja Nainggolans effort was fingertipped onto the post by Fiorentina goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu, in a move which was started by Francesco Totti.Roma is three points behind league leader Napoli, with Fiorentina a point further back. Fiorentina has played one match less as last weeks encounter with Genoa was suspended 28 minutes in due to heavy rain.---HARTS HOME DEBUTJoe Hart had barely a save to make in his home debut for Torino and kept his first clean sheet for his new team in a 0-0 draw against Empoli.Hart, who joined from Manchester City on loan, had a Serie A debut to forget last week in a 2-1 defeat at Atalanta. This week, however, the England goalkeeper was a spectator for most of the match and didnt make a save until the 63rd minute. That sparked a good spell of pressure for Empoli but Hart withstood the challenge. He punched more effectively than last weekend, when he misjudged a corner and only got a weak glove on the ball, gifting Atalanta the equalizer.---CROTONE OFF THE MARKNewly-promoted Crotone picked up its first ever Serie A point with a 1-1 draw against Palermo.Marcello Trotta gave Crotone the lead in the 23rd minute.Ilija Nestorovski leveled in the 66th to give new Palermo coach Roberto De Zerbi a first positive result after he replaced Davide Ballardini days before a 3-0 loss to Napoli. All 20 teams in Serie A now have at least a point.Marco Borriello scored twice against his former club as Cagliari won 3-0 against Atalanta, which missed a penalty when 1-0 down. Also, Chievo Verona came from behind to beat Udinese 2-1 with a stoppage-time winner, and Sassuolo triumphed 2-0 against Genoa.
